Networking Tips 3 - Be Prepared
Know what you want from an event. Again this sounds like an obvious one but many people turn up at an event and don't really have any expectations of what they want to achieve by attending.
You're spending your precious time and resources on being there, so it makes sense to get the most from it.
This doesn't mean pressing your business card firmly into the hands of everyone you meet.
It doesn't mean giving a sales pitch to as many people as possible.
It doesn't mean speaking to every single person in the room - you'll be lucky if you speak to half a dozen new people at any one event.
If you really want to maximise the number of people you talk to, then go along to a Speed Networking Event. Here you're more likely to meet everyone who's in the room and at least find out a little about all of them.
Decide what you want before you get there.
Plan to meet a certain number of new people.Plan to reconnect with people you know.Plan to meet one or two key contacts if you know who's going. If you're sent a list of attendees - make a note of who you want to talk to before you get there. Perhaps there are people you recognise or people you'd like to talk to.
To get the most out of your networking, spend a little time preparing for your meetings:
Get yourself a name badge. Sometimes networking events will provide you with name badges which gives you one less thing to remember. A simple one you can slot your business card into is useful, as long as the name on your card is easily readable. People are impressed with a smart name badge rather than a hand-scrawled sticky label or none at all.
Take plenty of business cards. Yes, I know that's obvious but people still turn up at events with no business cards or run out because they don't have enough.
Have a notebook and pen with you. You'll probably want to take notes of who you meet, useful information, opportunities for sharing contacts. Write it in your notebook or on the back of their business card.
Think about what you're going to say. Not only to the standard question ?... and what do you do?? but also to generate conversation with the people you meet. Practise saying what you do in a clear, concise way. One or two sentences is fine.
Get there on time. There's nothing worse than arriving late when people are already in full flow. It's good to arrive early and then you can easily introduce yourself to both the meeting organisers and to the first few people who are likely to be there early. You'll have a head start on the others.
Carry a business card with you at all times. You never know where or when you'll have an opportunity to offer help or your services. It doesn't always happen in organised events.
Where's the most unusual place you've been networking?

Networking: It's Not What You Know, It's Who You Know
It's not what you know, it's who you know.
You've heard that before, I am sure.
I was asked recently on a job forum for my opinion on various job search apps - to which I responded in bewilderment, "Those exist?"
Even if you don't consider yourself a people person, your odds are always better of advancing through the application process if you have a chance to meet your prospective employer in person. If you are looking for work, I suggest applying for jobs in the follow ways, listed in order from best-to-worst:
In personBy phoneThrough email / faxComplete online applicationEverything else...This article is about focusing on #1 and #2 - in person and by phone. I have seldom been unemployed for more than a few days at a time. Why? Because it's not what you know, it's who you know. This article is all about networking.
How would it feel if you knew you could stop by in person or simply pick up the phone and have a job ready and waiting for you? You can! It's the power of networking. Why would a recruiter choose to sift through hundreds if not thousands of resumes when he or she could simply pick up the phone and give you a call?
I have prepared 10 simple ways that you can begin networking now - whether you are looking for work or currently employed:
Attend a local Chamber of Commerce meeting. These meetings are free and generally happen in most cities every month or so. Attend a couple of these, mingle, get to know other people in your industry, and make some friends - these can be great long-term contacts!Spend time with some of your co-workers outside of work. You can have outings with work friends that do not have to be exclusively from your place of employment. While in a sales position, I went out with a co-worker who also invited out a few of his friends who work with his previously employer. One of them happened to be a hiring manager. I made friends with all of these people and consequently made some new contacts.
Join a local job search or career advice forum online. Even if you aren't looking for work, you can read posts pertaining to your industry and learn who is hiring. You can also make some local contacts in your industry by making some posts of your own.
Stay in touch with your past references. Don't just call them when you need a reference - call just to say hello! Talk about work. How is their business going? What news have they heard locally in your industry? Who is hiring? Find out.
Follow companies in your industry on Twitter & LinkedIn. - You can meet new people who are associated with these companies, learn when they are hiring, and collect other industry-relevant news. You can also tweet and leave comments occasionally to keep your name in front of these companies. Who knows who you may connect with?
Create a profile on LinkedIn & Monster. - Both of these tools keep your name in front of industry contacts, even if you are currently working. A lot of hiring managers (and headhunters) will just go to LinkedIn or Monster to search for potential new-hires instead of going through the hassle of creating a job posting. If you are contacted, made note of by whom and from where!
Do you have a professional designation? - If so, you may be able to join an association for professionals in your field, or attend events hosted by such an association.
Attend career fairs. - This is a great place to find out who is hiring, pick up business cards, and meet others in your industry. You can always meet hiring managers at these events, but you can also meet other job-seekers who may have some good advice for you.
Keep an eye on classified ads in your area. - It's always nice to keep note of hiring trends, who is hiring, etc. This isn't exactly networking, but it can be valuable information when talking to others. "I saw that xx company is hiring. What do you know about them?"
Upgrade your skills by taking a course. -If you upgrade your skills by taking a night class relevant to your industry, you are likely to meet other people in your industry there. These may not be hiring managers, but they are a fresh contact nonetheless.
Statistics say that the average American knows 2000+ people by name or face on a personal basis. I would be inclined to believe it's even more than that. There is no such thing as a wasted contact. Get to know as many people in your industry as possible. You never know when that contact will open a door for you one day down the road, or vice versa.

Your People Skills Are Important!
Your ability to ask good questions and present yourself positively is critical to winning the networking game. These qualities are largely reflections of how developed your people skills are.
If you confidently present yourself with a positive attitude and show that you have good listening skills, the person you meet is more apt to listen to what you have to say.
Remember that each new opportunity to meet someone is a new opportunity to build a new relationship-a relationship that, in time, could lead to greater business and personal growth.
CONTACT FEARS - It's quite often that people are afraid to reach out and network frequently because of what I call contact fears-the fear of making new contacts. If you're going to be successful using the networking process, you must be able to assert yourself positively and often. Rejection is an issue only if your focus is on having someone respond in a particular way. If you are relaying information primarily as a way to mutually share resources, then any response you get will support the flow of the process.
IMPROVING YOUR PEOPLE SKILLS - I have adapted six people skills from Venda Raye-Johnson's book, "Effective Networking," (Los Altos:Crisp Publications Inc. 1990) that are vital in strategic networking to make a better first impression. Although some individuals may seam like born networkers, this usually isn't the case. The main abilities necessary to have excellent people skills can be learned through practice.
• PEOPLE SKILL # 1 - ASSERT YOURSELF POSITIVELY: Know yourself and your product well enough to feel comfortable describing either of them in a crowd. Does your nonverbal communication conflict with what you're saying? Body language can aid communication by providing emphasis and punctuation. Gestures, posture, and facial expression broadcast messages before we speak and continue to do so while we speak.
• PEOPLE SKILL # 2 - ASK GOOD QUESTIONS: Only by asking good, direct, open-ended questions can you get the answers you are seeking. Don't beat around the bush when you are questioning an individual about his or her business needs. People appreciate honesty. Directly ask questions that not only get directly to the point (i.e.,that you want to help that person) but also show the person you are speaking with that you are serious about networking with them and connecting them with others.
• PEOPLE SKILL # 3 - LISTEN WITH YOUR "THIRD EAR": Because listening is such an important part of the networking process and concentrating can be difficult, you should listen at least three times harder. The listening process also requires us to "see" what people are saying. Be sensitive to the feelings of others. Listen with you senses-your eyes and your ears.
• PEOPLE SKILL # 4 - PRESENT YOURSELF ATTRACTIVELY: By ensuring you and your company are presented attractively, those you meet can more easily focus on your message and the relationship-building process rather than superficial issues. When you present yourself attractively, you feel good about yourself and are more confident.
• PEOPLE SKILL # 5- PRESENT YOURSELF AS KNOWLEDGEABLE OR SKILLFUL: there is no substitution for facts, information and knowledge, and if you are considered a resource for these, you will be in greater demand.
• PEOPLE SKILL # 6 - SHOW INTEREST BY EMPOWERING OTHERS: People like people who empower them. An effective networker is able to empower others. Empowering others means displaying a genuine interest and a helpful attitude and meeting the human need to be of value and significance to others. Networkers who empower others are in a powerful position to multiply their efforts, build a stronger networking team, and to lead others.

Want to Grow Your Business? Use Your Rolodex!
Want to grow your network? Have you ever considered the advice of people you already do business with? If you hadn't, then you are really missing out on the benefits of knowing a person who already has a network.
We don't go to social events or networking events for the food or the fun. We go to create a bigger and better network so that we can get more referrals. By accessing this group of professionals you are creating a super rolodex that in turn is actually an encyclopedia of networks.
Let me tell you a story of a friend who was looking for some advice which let to much more than what she bargained for. She was the owner of a small service oriented firm, that wanted to move to another state that had a better business environment than the one she was currently in. Like many of us know, working with the government in getting permits and the right paperwork takes... Well, FOREVER! Her plans to move just didn't seem to fall in her time schedule.
She decided to ask her CPA for some advice on how to make things go faster. She explained her situation to her CPA, who in turn knew the right people to get the job done for her.
Seems like the end of a fairy tail story where she lived happily ever after. I wish it were so, but the story continues; The owner of the small services firm, was able to make four new business clients from reaching out to her CPA for advice. All of this happened because she took the first step in reaching out to someone she knew. Taking the first step led to more than a fairy tale ending, it led to a bigger and better Rolodex.
Before you go and start asking all your business contacts for their Rolodex, here are a few tips to help you prepare so that you do not look like the business relationship hassling for more business.
1. It's better to give than to receive. It's simple, people respond to respect with respect. Most people can judge you in the first 3 seconds of your encounter with them. Make sure you build your social repertoire before you start asking for things in return.
2. Ask and you shall receive. This doesn't mean to ask your baker on how to fix your cars engine. Know which client is able to respond to your question, because if you don't your going to end up with someone staring at you with a glazed look like, shouldn't you be asking this question to some else?
3.Do not try and do a change-up. Remember you already built your reputation up, don't go and lose it by playing it sneaky. This will only offend your client and make them feel less confident in your ability to help them. Being straightforward is your best option; ALL THE TIME!
4.Politcally Correct. As simple as this sounds, to many times I hear of stories of where things turned from nice to awkwardness. Try your best to avoid these conversations at all cost, the discomfort and damage this will do will only hurt that relationship.
5.Nothing is Free. Keep this motto in mind when asking for advice. If you seek advice on something you would usually get charged for, this would be just as bad as breaking rule number 4.
Even though many of us don't really use a Rolodex anymore, it is the symbol that it represents. A powerful Rolodex not only helps you expand your business, but It also makes your business that much better. It's not what you know, it's whom you know, and if you build your Rolodex that way, nothing will be impossible.

Video Production Business Tips: Improve Your Connection With Video Production Customers
I don't really promote free video production work to non-profit organizations if there is no effect on the marketing aspect of your business. If you don't know if you will agree to work with these people on a pro bono basis, here are some questions you can ask yourself.
1. Are some of my best video clients part of this non-profit organization?
If your clients are part of this organization, this is the best way to enhance your connections with them especially if you make thousands of dollars for their projects. It's a personal way to show them that you have the same principles when it comes to sharing to the community. Just be cautious in committing to too much of these projects because they might get in the way of all your scheduled projects for paying clients.
2. Are my prospective customers associated in this non-profit?
If so, I will give you the same points as what I have mentioned above. If you get to be involved personally with the corporate heads of these prospective customers, it will be easier for you to get business with them in the future. The next time you meet them, you will not have any problems thinking about a topic to start a conversation. You just mention this non-profit event and you're right on track.
3. Will I get free advertisement for my company if I get involved with this free project?
If you will work for this organization for free, it's alright to ask them to do something for you. You can request for your website's link to be put on their site. You can tell the organization to include the video you made (along with your company name) in the email newsletter they will send out. This gives you a better chance of getting leads because people will automatically see a sample of your work. You can also have them mention your name and company during their fund raising events.
To get everything you need from your work, make sure that your video production business is also promoted during the event. It is important that you take advantage of this exposure if you want to make the most out of your free service. Take note that there will be a lot of dominant people involved in this organization. In this case, ask the organizers if they can give you complimentary tickets so you can invite your video production clients and prospects to join you in the event.

Taking Your Offline Prospecting To A Whole NEW Level
Offline Prospecting - The Do's And Don'ts of How to Break the Ice
Striking up a conversation with someone in your offline prospecting for most seems to bring forward this enormous fear of rejection. "How will I approach someone?" "What will I say?" "How will they respond?" Blah, blah blah!!!
Have you noticed that when it comes to offline prospecting, because it's being done with the intention of leading the conversation towards what you have to offer, becomes one of those tasks that you'd rather visit a dentist instead?
Most people are intimidated, frustrated, have a low self-esteem, and absolutely have no idea how to break the ice with someone when it comes to prospecting.
But is offline prospecting truly that difficult? Why can most people start a conversation with anyone as long as in their minds they know it's not being done with the intention to prospect?
It all comes down to one thing, FEAR.
Can Offline Prospecting Be Your Most Powerful Source Of Sponsoring?
In our industry, we tend to become blinded with the technical part of our business and/or the specific details of our products.
The nutritional facts, the compensation plan, the marketing system, while all very important to understand, can hinder you from focusing on the main objective, PEOPLE.
Offline prospecting is absolutely NOT about sharing your business's details, but of sharing YOUR value to others and becoming a resourceful leader in their eyes, a person that they are going to feel the utmost confidence in helping them achieve whatever their specific goals are.
Being a leader is where your focus needs to be, AT ALL TIMES!
So how DO YOU become a person that can easily "break the ice" in your offline prospecting and master the art of closing your leads into your business and/or product?
Below, I'm going to share FIVE simple steps to offline prospecting and to ease the stress of "Rejection".
The Five Steps To Mastering Offline Prospecting
There are so many different ways that I can explain to you the "How-To" of offline prospecting, But the most important and CRUCIAL steps that you will need to master are as follows:
Smile - Even though you might think smiling might not be important, it is actually one of the most powerful ways of showing someone that not everyone they will encounter is absolutely disgusted with their lives. Walking around with a smile causes curiosity. People while you are offline prospecting are going to want to know WHY are you smiling and what do you know that they don't. It's like the old saying "Curiosity killed the cat!"
You've Got 30 Seconds - Once you've caught the attention of someone, make it a habit to say something positive about that person in the first 30 seconds. That's right! In YOUR first 30 seconds because that's about how much of their attention you've captured by getting their eye contact and smiling. You won't believe how simple this is to do and the amount of positive reactions you will receive when doing so.
Don't Pitch Your Business - Contrary to what your upline or mentor will tell you, pitching your business on the "First Date" will give you the same results as going for 3rd base on a REAL date your first time out with that person. Not a good one! Look to listen more than speaking and trying to capture certain pain points that either you or your business/product can become a solution for.
The Follow Up - Network marketing is very similar to being a farmer. As a farmer, you have to first cultivate the soil, then plant the seeds, water them consistently, and then maintain your harvest by keeping out all the bugs and weeds that will trying to kill your all of your hard work. The follow up is as crucial in your business as the maintenance work performed by the farmer on a daily basis. Build that offline prospecting relationship with that person and look to inspire them consistently. How? With drawing mental pictures! Share with them your vision and allow them to also imagine what life would be like if they had the things they truly wanted.
Even though simple, these steps are the foundation of ANY network marketing business and should be yours as well. As a recommendation, I'm going to HIGHLY suggest you pick up your copy, if you haven't done so already, of Mike Dillard's Magnetic Sponsoring.
If you already have a copy, GO BACK A RE-READ IT. Because if you're having trouble getting the results you want in your business, then you unequivocally need a refresher!
Stay focused, stay positive, and attract success in your offline prospecting!

Business Networking - 9 Tips For Success At The Networking Event
You have prepared and planned for your networking event with almost military precision. You have arrived in plenty of time; you are relaxed and mentally prepared. Now what do you do? Do you rush in and hand out business cards to anyone who will take them? No! Don't do that. Here instead are nine great tips that will help you maximize your networking enjoyment and potential success.
Tip One - Meet your pre-arranged contacts
After you have been greeted by the event host, and if you previously arranged to meet with a sponsor or business colleague, make sure that you seek them out as promised. Do not spend all your time talking to the people you know well. Save this for another day. After all, everyone is really there to meet new people.
Tip Two - Get introduced to others
Use the host or people you already know to introduce you to others that you may want to meet. This method gets rid of the sometimes awkward ice-breaking stage.
Tip Three - Be the introducer
This is a great way to feel confident. Introducing people demonstrates your confidence and social grace. Pay particular attention to people who seem lost, shy or simply isolated. They will love the chance to be introduced to someone so after talking a little with them yourself, find out who they want to meet and then make the introduction. You will feel really good about this simple act.
Tip Four - Refreshments and snacks
These can be a nightmare. If the event has a sit-down meal element that is fine and you can eat and talk as you would in any other dining situation. If the refreshments and snacks are intended to be eaten whilst mingling then I would suggest that you stick to soft drinks only. Even handling a cup and saucer with coffee or tea can be tricky when you are expected to shake hands or kiss cheeks. Don't even get me started about people spraying crumbs of food when they talk or getting food in their teeth - leave the snacks for later.
Tip Five - Be careful with your promises
This may sound counter-intuitive but don't just give your cards out to everyone you meet. Only swap contact details with people you feel it is worth keeping in contact with. It is unfair and a waste of everyone's time to give the impression you want to connect with people you really don't want to connect with. If you promise to call someone or follow-up with some more information, then you had better make sure you do it. Make a to-do list and stick to it. This will help you protect your hard-earned credibility.
Tip Six - Be a fantastic listener
This is a really key social, business and life skill. Learn to listen well and attentively. Listen to what is not said as much as what is said. People love to be listened to and will like you all the more as a result. You will learn much more. We generally all have two ears and one mouth so use them in that ratio.
Tip Seven - Be helpful whenever you can
People are naturally drawn to helpful people. Offer advice only if asked and only if you are qualified to do so. Offer to send articles of interest to people or provide helpful contacts. Givers get, as they say, and what goes around comes around.
Tip Eight - Be yourself
It is hard to be anyone else so why bother trying. Be honest and don't fall into the trap of making false claims to impress people. They will find out eventually. It is very easy in the heat of the moment to inflate our own importance. It is not necessary. People will like you all the better for just being you.
Tip Nine - Smile
In my opinion, the best tool in the networking toolbox. You'll feel on top of the world. Smiling is infectious and people will be drawn towards you. You will put people at their ease. Smiling indicates confidence and control. People want to see that in potential suppliers and referral partners.
That's it for now. I hope you enjoy all your upcoming networking events. You now have more knowledge than many others so relax and enjoy meeting your potential new customers or referral partners. Listen carefully and openly to what they have to tell you and, more importantly, what issues they want to solve.

Actualizing Your Wise Business Mind
In order to actualize anything we need to be fully present. In business, especially, we must remove all blinders. We must pay attention to all thoughts we have about the potential opportunity in front of us, not just the positives.
MONEY MAKING POTENTIAL IS GOOD BUT NOT AT THE EXPENSE OF USING YOUR RATIONAL MIND!
Too many times we get so driven by the "money-making potential" that we set aside our rational minds, sweeping under the rug anything that doesn't feel quite right. If you want to not get burned you must stay grounded and centered and trust your inner wise mind.
I now have under my business-belt of knowledge, some first-hand experience with a relatively new opportunity (which shall stay un-named) and wanted to share my process with you--
GREED IS THE CULPRIT--IT IS HUMAN, WE ALL POSSESS IT SO WATCH OUT FOR IT!!
To put it bluntly, what got me burned this time was greed. That's right-- pure, unadulterated greed! It is not something I am proud of but it is a human quality we all have. Smart entrepreneurs need be aware of their own greed when considering investing time and money into any new business.
The wise business person activates and turns the volume way up on the discriminating mind's antennae. With so many online opportunities it is easy to get mislead or scammed. I'm not saying we should look for the scam potential in every opportunity we meet. I'm just saying we need to turn on our intuitive powers after we've completed the other fact-finding due diligence efforts.
PAY ATTENTION TO THE PIECES OF THE PUZZLE THAT JUST DON'T FIT
Once we've filtered out those parts that do not seem quite right we should look at those areas which do not fit with the rest of the picture. It is in those puzzle pieces that don't quite "fit in" that we may find the key to choosing or NOT choosing a legitimate, potentially profitable business opportunity.
In my case, I have always given greatest weight to the opinions of business partners who I trust, who have steered me down paths that have been quite profitable. However, even those we trust and who we know are not scam artists are capable of walking down the wrong path by their own greed factors. This is what I believe happened to me with my recent business loss.
EVEN TRUSTED BUSINESS PARTNERS ARE CAPABLE OF THE GREED FACTOR--THEY'RE ONLY HUMAN, JUST LIKE YOU!
My trusted business partner said to me as he referred me to this particular opportunity, that it had taken him a considerable amount of time to make up his mind before he decided to get started. He said what changed his mind was that others who had begun placing their advertising dollars into the opportunity were already in profit mode. He said they were doing well financially and had first-hand knowledge of these people. He went on to say that he trusted these entrepreneurs and knew their characters, so decided to give it a go. However, he did agree with me that the opportunity sounded "too good to be true"--both of us used to tell one another that "if it sounds too good to be true then it probably is!"
What is noteworthy here is that I completely ignored my internal voice that was telling me not to take part in this business model as it definitely sounded too good to be true. My rational mind knew that it was too good to be true, yet I forged ahead anyway. I began engaging in "wishful thinking" that just this one time it was not too good to be true. In other words, I deluded myself. I placed a false protective shield around my efforts based not on reality, but on hope for a pie-in-the sky positive outcome, in my case! Not very wise, indeed!
HOW TO ACTUALIZE YOUR WISE BUSINESS MIND--
1. The wise mind values the internal voice which intuits potential danger ahead.
2. The wise business mind does not act on "too good to be true" sounding business opportunities.
3. In short, to actualize your wise business mind pay close attention to your gut feeling and do not sweep it under the rug. Examine it very closely.
4. Do not make any sudden or abrupt business decisions.
5. Do not hesitate to stay away from an opportunity if your wise mind cautions you against it.
6. Know that everyone, even your trusted business partners with whom you may have had many positive, profitable experiences, are only human and capable of greed, just like you.
7. We are all human and capable of greed and delusion. The wise entrepreneur is aware of her/his own humanness and acts to reduce it!
As always, going on beyond, I wish you well in your future business adventures!

Business Networking - 5 Tips For Successful Business Networking Event Preparation
You have chosen your ideal business networking group and you have picked a suitable event date. You have designed a fabulous networking "pitch" that is chock full of benefits for your potential new clients and referral partners. Is there anything else you can do to prepare for success ahead of time? There are definitely many activities and tactics that can help. Here are five great tips for pre-event preparation that will help you maximize your networking enjoyment and potential success.
Tip One - Get to know your event host.
Every event will have a host. Get to know this person well and make their life easier by completing things such as administration requests and your meeting payments ahead of time. They will then be well disposed to help you as a result. They will know who is who in the group and quite often will have many additional contacts in the area. These contacts are potentially very valuable once the host knows your business and trusts you enough to pass your name on.
Tip Two - Find out who is attending the event
Once you know your host you can quite easily find out, ahead of time, who will be attending the event. Why is this important? Well, if there are people there you do want to meet you can either arrange to be seated next to them or have the host introduce you during the proceedings. Conversely, if there are people you wish to avoid the host can also arrange that you are seated elsewhere.
Tip Three - Get your mind-set right
This is very important. Have a goal for what you want to achieve at the event. Now, visualize yourself being successful at the event and achieving your targets. Visualize yourself delivering your pitch perfectly and naturally to a receptive audience. Visualize meeting your intended potential client or referral partner and hitting it off right away. The choice of visualization is yours but visualize - it works. Be relaxed and look forward to the event.
Tip Four - Dress appropriately
The right attire really does affect your ability to make a good first impression. Notice that I said dress appropriately. If it is an informal networking group don't show up in a suit as you will be noticeable for all the wrong reasons. Likewise, for a formal event, don't show up in jeans. It might be superficial but first impressions have to be right. Clarify the dress code in advance, with your host, if you are in any doubt.
Tip Five - Plan your journey
This may sound obvious, but make sure you know where you are going. Leave in plenty of time and check for any traffic hold-ups that may case you problems. Getting to an event late is a fantastic way to destroy your carefully prepared mind-set and make a poor first impression with the host and the other attendees. Get there early and you can park up, have a nice cup of tea and be able to meet and greet all the guests you want to.
That's it for now, so enjoy your networking event and remember that there will be other people in the same position as you. You, however, now have more knowledge than they do so relax and start to meet your potential new customers or referral partners and listen carefully and openly to what they have to tell you and, more importantly, what issues they want to solve.

Network Marketing: Your First Step to Achieve Your Dreams
Everybody has a dream. A dream that gives you time freedom and financial freedom. But unfortunately our dreams involve money to reach it and the question is that, how can I achieve my dream?
The answer is own a business. Having your own business will in fact generates income. But if we are talking about dreams, we are talking big dreams that will sustain your future financial security.
The principle of having a business is that if you want to earn big money, you must invest big money and if you want small income, you just need to invest small amount of money. The question is, which one do you choose? Of course, you will choose the business that will let you earn big income. Do you have huge amount of money to invest?
Most people dreamed of owning their own medium to big corporate businesses but their number hindrance is the lack of money to invest in. Is it really the lack of money or the lack of idea how much money they really need to start their own business.
The number one factor to success of owning a business is having your own tested and proven system. The fact is that, having a tested business system requires the experience to fail. Ouch, how sad is that. The good thing is that, if you do some studies first, you might minimize the damage of your early days in your business.
Is there any other choice or business model of starting ones business that don't need a system and high cost of investment? The good news is yes, there is. And this business model is called Network Marketing.
Network marketing is a system of moving products from factory to consumers through an organization of users, retailers and network builders. Meaning, the process of distributing the products is lessened.
Unlike distributing products using the traditional business, the product will come from the factory, to the area wholesalers, brokers, grocery stores some times small stores. The bad news is that, the price of the goods will also rise as every middleman also needs to earn. Another thing is that, for advertising using various advertising media. This makes the product so pricey when it reach to the end user.
The question is that, why not give those advertising fees to the retailers or users? This will make them earn great profits. Yes, and that systematic strategy is the so called network marketing.
The very good thing about this business model is that, you don't need to invest huge amount of money. You don't need to own a business system because the distribution company will give this to you once you invest to a networking company.
That is why, I consider this network marketing business model as one of the first step of achieving your big dreams. Own a business today through network marketing. By the way, check out my next article on how to choose the right networking company.

Filling in the Blanks in "Tell Me About Yourself"
I'm standing on 42nd St and once again get stopped by a tourist. I guess I look like a local... or a nice guy! They ask me where they can find a good Italian restaurant. I look at them and I go blank. Even though, my favorite mouthwatering Italian meatball is right around the corner... I blank. My mind just goes blank. I try to say something witty like, "No, I really am a New Yorker!" as they walk away from me down the crowded street. Just as they turn the corner, it's back. Carmines!
Minds can go blank at the most inopportune times. And if it happens when I'm with a stranger asking about a restaurant, you can only imagine what will happen when the pressure is on. During auditions, agent interviews or networking situations, it happens to the best of us.
The mind-blanking syndrome happens especially during the times we think we can wing it or we feel like we know it. Why? Because we don't prepare. But here's the deal... we need to be clear on the points we want to make. The key to being world class is bringing your "A game" every time. How do we do this? By creating a cheat sheet.
The answer to "So tell me about yourself." Having a response prepared will give you structure and talking points. Something to fall back on. But talking points that are also Brand centric. Having sound bites that are rehearsed will help support you when your mind goes blank. If you've practiced with someone else and know your key points, it will give you confidence, and confidence is what people respond to.
Ultimately, nothing beats that feeling of walking out the room knowing you were well prepared and that you got your points across.
So here's what I want you to do. Go out and tell people about yourself. Decide what you want people to know about you and start offering it up without being asked. Practice being your authentic self as you order your morning coffee. Make conversation with the person next to you. Ask them to tell you about themselves. See how other people answer the question and what's most memorable.
Remember, you are in sales. The only way you'll be able to sell your product is by sharing what you do with the world. Like working on your craft, it takes practice to fill in the blanks.

The Top 3 Tips for Organizing a Effective Business Networking Affair
Accept Walk-ins and Door Payments for additional guests
It is always a good idea to have an online registration option. This makes it convenient for guests to sign up but you cannot stop there. Many people who host networking events allow for online sign-up and then have a cut off. When this is done there is no option to attend the event without preregistration online. If you're looking to maximize attendance as well as your bottom line, you must have a way to accept payments for latecomers who haven't preregistered. You must prepare in and dance to accept cash payments and have change available. Furthermore, you must prepare yourself to accept credit and debit card payments on the spot. An easy way to accept credit card payments is to use a portable card swiper. If you have an iPhone or Android smart phone you can use "Square" which is free and connects right to your headphone jack. No merchant account is required.
Online and Off-Line Registrations are both important
Making it easy for your desired guests to register for your event is imperative. Even though it is very easy to register for events online nowadays, there are many who find online mechanisms complicated or difficult. Because of this, you must create options for registration online and off-line. A great online registration software is Eventbrite.com. This online software is free and relatively easy to set up. If you charge for your event, the company will take a small percentage of each ticket sold. However, you have the option to completely customize your event page. You can include photos, videos, press, etc. It is very user-friendly. Simultaneously, must create a way for people to sign up off-line. There are a few options for this; have people come to your place of business to purchase tickets. Allow people to call your business line and purchase tickets via credit or debit over the phone. Partner with a local business and sell tickets from their location.
Using Event Help and Support Staff
Even when hosting small networking events it's not recommended to handle all of the chores alone. These chores can include; checking people in at the door, introducing people to others, handing out your company literature, etc. You will want to make sure that your guests have a pleasant and productive experience. It can get to be cumbersome when trying to handle several tasks at once. The last thing you want is for your guests to feel neglected. You also want to ensure that the activities within your event are fulfilling your goals. If you decide to partner with another business or professional, you can assign different tasks for both of you to complete. It is also a good practice to trade off on tasks as the event progresses. This way both of you can get a chance to mingle as you wish. There are also the options of hiring event support or enlisting volunteers who may benefit from attending as well.

The Benefits of Masterminding
Mastermind groups are nowadays common in various formats. Some groups are open for anyone to attend when they wish and others are closed groups, which engender trust and accountability.
Its popularity has been growing since many people want to find their success by sharing inputs and ideas with other individuals, creating visions and goals, and encouraging a positive mindset. Being involved in a mastermind group is also a great way to offer and receive support as they work to attain a specific purpose and goal. It helps individuals connect with others who share the same desires, interests and visions. They offer their ideas to others while receiving solutions and perspectives from the most unexpected individuals at the same time.
Masterminding became popular when Napoleon Hill had written about it in his book, 'Think and Grow Rich', as part of his research work and inspired by Scottish-American businessman Andrew Carnegie. This book was first published in 193 and has become a classic known for its motivational personal development and self-help.
So, what is masterminding and what are its benefits?
Napoleon Hill defined masterminding as the, "coordination of knowledge and effort, in a spirit of harmony, between two or more people, for the attainment of a definite purpose." To make it simpler, a mastermind group is a union of two or more individuals dedicating themselves to fulfil a specific goal. It can be as small as two individuals and as big as your ability can manage.
Mastermind groups also have two basic types: one focusing on an individual's success and vision, and the other one focusing on helping everyone in the group.
Mastermind groups have also many benefits and advantages.
It helps you to succeed because you have a group of people available to help you.
You also get the benefit of being able to hear different feedbacks, inputs and opinions, as well as share your own. This is somewhat a give and take relationship on the process.
A mastermind group is also about growth and development.
It helps you enhance your skills as well as requiring you to expand out of your comfort zone so that you will get the outcome that you truly want and need.
It allows you to have a bigger and greater vision which gives you the motivation to achieve your goals.
You will gain more confidence and help by borrowing on the experience and skills of others.
It also adds a supportive network.
There are still many more benefits to masterminding and you'll experience it once you join a mastermind group, sharing with others your visions.

The Most Notable 3 Guidelines for Presenting a Victorious Business Networking Mixer
Always Collect Business Cards From Your Guests
Even if you obtain attendee contact information from online sign-ups or even a sign in sheet at the door, collecting business cards is still an important practice. There are numerous purposes to collecting business cards that can prove useful. For example; they can be used as back up contact information if anything happens to your sign in sheet or registration software data. They can be used, if placed in a bin when of attendees enter your event, to be pulled out randomly when giving away door prizes. They can be used in obtaining physical addresses or other information not available through online sign-up or sign in sheets. There are even more reasons to collect business cards but the acquisition of them is very easy; simply request attendees hand over their business cards when they first enter your event and are signing in. Most will do so gladly.
Name Tags or Badges Are an Important Element to Add On
You must consider that when people come to network they are in a room full of strangers. Networking is a social exercise but it also has an end goal in mind. Many attendees may feel intimidated and uncomfortable while others may be more focused and have a goal of who they want to meet. In either case removing the guesswork and putting a name and a company with a face is valuable to your guests. By using name tags for badges you are helping your attendees to collapse time frames and making it easier for them to interact with one another. There are even networking events in which the badges are color-coded by industry. This is excellent because it allows more focused networkers to approach who they wish as well as avoid others whom they may feel are not a good match.
You May Want to Hire a Good Photographer
If you're planning on hosting a networking event chances are you're not going to stop with just one. As you go through the process of hosting several events it is a good idea to record the happenings via photos or videos. This is a good idea for a few reasons; you can post these photos or videos on your event website. You can e-mail attendees photos or videos of events they attended and subsequent events. By posting these photos or videos you are displaying visual proof that your events are worthy of attending. Depending on your role in event itself, you may or may not have time to take flicks or film it yourself. Therefore, it is a good idea hire a professional photographer to take photos or record your event activities. Hiring a professional almost guarantees that there will be higher quality than doing it yourself. Many photographers are affordable for short periods of time.

3 Valuable Tips for Organizing a Worthwhile Business Networking Event
Adding Music for an Upbeat and Professional Atmosphere
Typically, networking events can go well if they are simply run professionally and the guest's experience is seriously kept in mind. This is all possible with a stringent organization process. However, because your guest's experience is valuable you can add music to help create a pleasant atmosphere. Remember, this is an event that is designed to help professionals to network as well as give your business exposure. The music that you choose is only to be considered a good backdrop to help facilitate comfort and enjoyment. This is an optional choice but you should make sure that it is not played too loud as to cause people to yell or speak unpleasantly above their natural tones. You should choose instrumental music that is of a medium tempo and similar to that which is played for relaxation purposes. You can also choose more upbeat and motivating music just keep the desired mood generation in mind.
Making Negotiations with Venues
Depending on the location that you decide on to host your networking event, there is no doubt that there will be some form of negotiation at hand. Many places like; hotel conference rooms, catering halls, and other locations focused around events, will have set prices which are usually nonnegotiable. However, if you choose to hold your event at a restaurant, pub, or other public business looking for exposure, you can negotiate terms and pricing. For example; if you choose to host your event at a fancy restaurant or popular pub on a slow evening, the manager or owner may allow you to do so free of charge. This is because you are indirectly promoting their place of business to people who otherwise wouldn't be aware of them. Therefore, you can use this aspect of value when negotiating a price or extras during the event; like refreshments. You can let the venue know that you will promote their specials in return for free space rental and a reduced charge on refreshments.
Create an Event Website or Blog to Maximize Exposure
Even if your company has its own website and contains information about your event, creating a separate website or blog about the event isn't a bad idea. You can always exchange links from your company's website to your event website and vice versa. A separate website or blog aside from your main one may help to attract targeted visitors if optimized correctly. You may also put your event in a position to take on a life of its own by allowing visitors to comment about the event and their experiences. They can also contribute questions or compliments publicly. Depending on your web designer's know-how or your own expertise, you can add an option to sign up right on the site. Having a separate site will also build your overall online equity and show that your company receives positive feedback in other areas like networking events. It can also help with attendance because it keeps visitor's attention on the event and signing up opposed to providing distractions.

Become the "Commissioner" of Your Career Transition - Network Like A Champion
If you're like me, this is the beginning of your favorite time of year. It's football season! Autumn's colors and cooler temperature are almost here. You can feel your passions for your favorite college and professional teams building with each day of training camp. If you're a current or former player, the thoughts of the long, hot summer workouts are filling your mind. You're ready for the season to begin and you're going to actively follow your team's progress.
However, if you're sick and tired of your current career and you have a strong desire to change companies (or change your entire career), autumn is the time to start actively playing the networking game. Yes, networking can be viewed as a game for several reasons:
· It's fun!
· Many organizations (leagues) have several networking events planned after the summer vacation season ends (the off season).
· There are strategies to doing it effectively (your playbook).
· You need to take action to execute your strategies (making the plays).
· There are measurable results found in the strength of your relationships and your bank account (the trophy).
A lot like football, wouldn't you agree?
As with any game, you'll want to have a plan to win the game. Here are four tips to include in your activities:
1. Show up on time and stay until the end
Just like an interview, on time means 10-15 minutes early. That's because you'll need to find a parking space and to sign in. You may want to freshen up a bit if the event is held after business hours. You don't want to feel rushed. You'll also get a jump on your networking activities with the organizers and the other early attendees.
Staying until the end is also valuable networking time because as the crowd thins, there's more time for you to find out the goals and interests of those that are still there. It allows you to have more "face time" with those you met earlier and possibly set follow up meeting times.
2. Plan what type of contacts you'd like to make
Are you looking to meet with a business owner or a mid-level or upper manager because they're in touch with the hiring decision maker? Do you want to connect with new attendees in a particular field because they may have connections that will lead to your new position? Do you want to meet with a sales professional because they call on a wide variety of clients?
All of those strategies can be used successfully if you pick and choose your networking events carefully. I recommend that you make a plan to meet 3 - 5 solid contacts with just one of those goals in mind. Doing so will give your networking activities focus, and after the meeting, a sense of accomplishment.
3. Plan the follow up with your new contacts
One of the biggest mistakes you can make is to fail to do the follow up after the meeting. If you don't plan to do the follow ups, there really is no reason for you to play the game.
Make a phone call, or send a card or a letter stating how much you enjoyed meeting them. Let them know that you'd like to meet with them again to find out more about them and their company. You may want to use an information interview format, or a focused conversation about their goals, accomplishments, and challenges. Be sure to keep the meeting 30 minutes, unless told otherwise.
Though you may be looking for a new position, make sure you focus your follow up activities on finding out more about your meeting partner. Showing genuine interest for their goals and interests will make you memorable down the road when a position opens that requires your skills and talents. After they've given you their information, they'll likely give you the opportunity to do the same.
4. Reconnect with those you know
You can't ignore those you've made contact with in the past. If you want them to remember you in flattering terms, make sure you greet them as enthusiastically as those with whom you're hoping to meet.
That doesn't mean spending the entire event talking to those you know. You're there to make new contacts. Spend a few minutes greeting acquaintances. Ask what's new with them and their business. If you remember that a specific event or challenge was coming up for them, find out how things went and offer assistance, if possible. To make a "soft break" from the conversation, you may also want to ask them to help you by having them introduce you to those you'd like to meet.
The summer season usually means a slowdown in networking activities. Make sure you're ready to get back in the game in a big way by using the end of summer as your training camp for the networking season ahead of you.

Attracting the new clients and patients you need to keep your practice successful is a very real challenge, with the right assistance it may be easier to overcome.
With the apprehension so common to most patients faced with an upcoming appointment, it may seem a little more difficult than it needs to be to promote a private practice. Success Formula for Networking Events
The most obvious thing as a networker I notice when going to networking events is that most event goers are not aware of how they can make networking work successfully for themselves and their business.
I believe that there are four things you need to do and understand before networking will reach your expectations.
The first being is to know what, where, why and who your niche market is. What are you looking to achieve when you are going to events? Are you aware of who you are needing to meet for your future success? Why do you want to be in that marketplace? Do you know where you need to be to meet those business people?
These are really crucial questions if you want to get your networking right! Once you are aware of these four questions you can then set out to achieve what you want in the most cost and time effective way. Word of mouth marketing is not a 'hit and miss' experience. There is a formula that I believe will bring success once you know your niche and move to that area for your connections.
Prior to going to any event you need to have goals on what you wish to achieve during the time you are there. Are you setting goals and making sure that they come to fruition. It is important that you accomplish what you set out to do and do not leave the event until you have achieved it.
Socialising is very important and you are there to meet new people, so don't spend the time with people you already know and have developed a relationship with already. Your time with people you know needs to be limited to at least a third of your event time. Be aware of people who appear not to know anyone and support them to meet others. This will help you move into new circles of attendees. Do not leave the event until you have achieved what you went there to do! Don't be pushy in regards to your business, you are there to learn about the other attendees firstly!
The most important part of any event is your follow up - what you do after you leave and go back to your office. Make sure you email people you have met that you feel you would like to know better and see again. It is very important that you send a nice friendly email WITHOUT any promotion on what you do in your business. One of the first turn off's is when someone emails to say 'nice to meet you, here is what I do'. That type of email gives you the license to hit the delete button!
Networking is all about relationship building and giving without expectation on return. Your first priority is to learn as much as you can about the person you are making contact with, asking them for more and deciding if you wish to meet them again on a one-on-one basis or at a future event. It is important that the email you send states what your intentions are in regards to learning about them. Remember, you do not know who they know or you may be looking for someone for your network who does what they are doing or you may just want to know them better and develop a personal business relationship with them.
We all have different reasons for our networking and it is very easy to just turn up and expect things to happen. Networking is all about the ACTION you take to make it worthwhile for you and your business future.
Discover the secrets to becoming a better networker.
As every business person knows, networking is all about gaining exposure, building your career and profile, meeting new people and creating business connections. Elevator Networking
What is the Elevator Pitch?
Old school sales personnel were told to get in a lift with your prospective customer and tell him all about your products while they were stuck in the lift with you.
It was also named this because sales people were too good at talking and would go on, and on about themselves before telling the client about the product. This still happens by the way, I experienced a sales manager pitching a $200,000 service to a client and had spent 10 minutes talking about who the company was and nothing about how they were here to help the client fill their need.
So the elevator pitch was born. Senior managers told all their sales staff to learn how to make a product pitch in less than 20 seconds, the average time taken to ride an elevator, and get all the key points across in this time.
Why the method of elevator pitches still works
If anything managers and customers are even more time pressured so your sales pitch has to be done in less than 10 seconds today so everyone can move onto the next person or topic.
Learn to cut the waffle out of your sales pitch by focusing on only what you can say in 20 seconds. In generally goes like this;
Introduce yourself (your company)One sentence about what you doOne mention of the key product being promoted this pitchHow the product meets clients needs (similar to their needs)Then throw over to the prospect to join in and start a sales conversation.Practice makes perfect
It is still surprising to find managers or business owners that cannot summarise their business within a sentence or two. If you cannot do this, then you dont really understand your business well enough yet.
This was another benefit of the elevator pitch as it forced the sales staff to get to the heart of what their business does.
To practice your pitch write down you answers to the above questions and read them aloud to see how well they flow together. each sentence should lead the prospect into your product pitch.
Then walk across your office to the door (or mirror if you really want to challenge yourself) and say your pitch. Make sure you time yourself.
Where elevator pitches can go wrong
If you are at a conference or business event, you will be making this pitch many times so you will want to have variations to prevent someone stopping your pitch and saying I have heard this already.
The other important part of the elevator pitch is to make it interesting for listeners to remember. After all the entire point of the pitch is so they remember your product and company.
Review your customers and see if you can find any interesting or hard to fix solutions that you can use as examples, without naming or identifying them of course.
Like any pitch, you have thrown the ball to the plate and you need to see what the batter (prospect) does with your ball. This is where the challenge of elevator pitching, like any lead generation strategies, really starts.

Website Prep 101 For Small Business
When a person is starting a new business, whether it is a small business, a medium sized business or a franchise, it is usually a fast realization that there are not enough hours in the day for the business owner to make the business a success. Marketing and advertising comes into play, and realizations that technical aspects of advertising and internet marketing will require, at least, the guidance of a professional.
There are several services that offer online directory listings and micro sites, like a local chamber of commerce, or Yelp. It is always a good thing that any business's online presence includes these things, but a custom website design is a marketing tool that your business will own, and have complete control over, forever. Most advertising is static and temporary. Websites are custom made, can be updated anytime, and don't run for a specified amount of time.
When considering website design for your business, there is preliminary research involved, coming up with answers to questions such as "Why does my business need a website?", or "What will I do with my website once it's built?" are important, as are realizing the cost of website design, and other online marketing services.
Many people feel like they don't need a website because they run a small business that is based on word of mouth advertising and a personal touch, and a website as a marketing tool wouldn't work for their type of business. While this is a valid concern, and many businesses have a client base that doesn't much use a computer, or search for businesses on the internet, a business without a website is excluding their customers (and potential) customers who do use a computer. Studies show that 85% of Americans use a computer daily, that number has not gone down since the inception of personal computers. Another interesting statistic, is that the fastest growing population of computer users are those between 50 and 75 years old. My website reaches more and more people from that age group each day. Remember, 75 years ago, many Americans thought the telephone was an expensive luxury that wouldn't be necessary for business growth.
When looking for website design, or a website development firm, there are several things to consider. A website professional who can display several graphically impressive works is important, but not the end all. Flashy graphics and impressive text only compose about 20-30% of any website, and behind them is coded tags and scripts that gives the website functionality, cause it to rank higher with search engines, load quickly, etc. Many beginner or amateur website designers do not have a firm enough grasp on website development to make your site perform as well as it needs to, usually to return on itself as an marketing expense. Another important offering you should expect from a web design company is control over the content of the website. There should be a feasible option to update and change the websites content, or pictures/text/video etc. Many companies offer monthly or as-needed maintenance plans for regular website updates and website redesign. Great web development companies may be able to create a back-end, back-office, or content management system that allows you (or someone at your business) to log in to the website to make changes and updates independently.
Website design is something almost every business has to consider during its start up or early phases. Like any other service oriented company, there are dishonest and unqualified companies and contractors who look for the opportunity to sell a sub-par service. Consider carefully and as an informed consumer when choosing your website design professional.

Go to School, Get Good Grades, Go to a Good College, Get a Good Job? Not Anymore!
That's how the system used to work, right? You'd follow the same formula for success that your parents, teachers, and doctors followed because that's what worked for them. Were they ever rich? Did they make more than $2,000 or $3,000 per moth? Maybe your doctor did, but was he/she ever able to actually enjoy life outside the clinic?
Not likely. And here's why...
Paying bills, never getting ahead...That system is designed to keep money in the pockets of consumers. It isn't designed for the Average Joe to come out ahead and ever have any money left over. He may have a few nice things; big house, nice car, beautiful family. But no time to spend truly enjoying his things or his family. Just ask Lawrence Tam. Go YouTube him.
The likelihood of rising to the top with a regular job in any profession is very low. If you're REALLY good, you could start your own business, work your ass off, and maybe make a little more than average after all overhead is paid. The percentage of businesses that survive their first 2 years is low; 5 years is even lower.
The old methodology of working harder to make more money just isn't the case anymore. The new way is to work smarter and earn even more. The Internet and mobile technologies make it so that high school students are able to make thousands or even millions of dollars online. Anyone with a vision and a dream can make money online.
The formula for success has changed. You may have read my previous blog post about change within the normal business model.
The Business Model of Life
Life is one big business model if you really take a close look at it. We're born innocent and unknowing. Our future at the moment of birth is a completely clean canvas on which we can make our own unique imprint. Unfortunately we must first learn to eat, sit, crawl, walk, and run.
Many times, the learning process drills the old formula for success into our psyche; school, grades, job, success). We're all taught the same thing, the same formula. This particular formula isn't working for the people around us; didn't work for our parents or teachers, isn't working for our neighbors, yet we're taught this is the formula for success.
The learning process teaches us many things; including the real formula for success. We're taught to reach for success, but respect our limits. If we're lucky enough to have incredible parents who teach us to reach for the stars, we learn we can do more. (Thank you mom, love you! My mom's awesome.)
Where was I... ?
Oh yeah.
The formula for success that is drilled into our heads from the moment we learn to read and write just isn't working for today's money-making generations. Jobs are few and far between, and you have people with masters degrees in marketing managing fast food restaurants.
Change is Growth
The business model of life changes and evolves just like any other business model. Each generation of humans faces different challenges, and the formula for success must change to meet the rising demand. Do you think settlers to "the new land" were teaching their kids the formula for success used in the 1980s and 1990s? Not likely.
Settlers were teaching their children the family trade or how to barter the food they grew or products they made by hand. Life was simpler then in many ways. Instead of producing things for money, you produced what people needed, including yourself, and traded for other things you needed. This simple life-business model was very successful for many years.
Today's world doesn't allow us to simply trade our goods for something someone else has. Today we barter our own products and services, or we barter our time for money which we may use to buy other things we need. Products and services we provide don't necessarily have to be a physical product or service in order to bring in a good income.
Digital products and services are super easy to sell and effective means of making money. Nothing physically changes hands, because there is no physical product. Ebooks, ereports, articles used in article marketing, articles used as web content, online advertising... all of these items are paid for but none of them physically change hands from the creator to the buyer.
You don't even have to own the electronic product you sell if you have a prearranged agreement with the person who does own it. Affiliate marketing and network marketing are two of the most effective ways to make money online.
Network Marketing has greatly evolved in recent years. No longer do you have to bug your friends or family to join a program with you. Check out my Empower Network blog to see how you can get started quickly and easily, and save your business from failure.

7 Reasons Why People Fail To Make Money In Online, Multilevel And Affiliate Marketing Businesses
There are several reasons why many people fail to earn reasonable sums of money from their various online businesses. These reasons range from simple things like attitude to complex technicalities.
In this article, I will discuss the common reasons why many people fail to earn money from internet marketing, Multilevel marketing, affiliate marketing and any business for that matter. Knowledge of the possible causes of failure will help the novice networker know what to avoid to prevent failure. We are all prone to these shortcomings and need to examine the cause of our failure and retrace our footsteps in the right direction.
1. Inability to focus on one thing: Many online marketers do not have focus. They set out to achieve one thing and along the line, because of the many opportunities that abound on the internet, try to do many things at the same time. This is surely a recipe for disaster. You have to do one thing, and stick with it; succeed in it before you move on to the next. That way, you devote all your time and effort to the thing that matters, and achieve good results.
2. Joining the wrong program: Some choose the wrong program. It is usually better to join an Multilevel marketing opportunity which offers some residual income in the long run. Some people join affiliate programs which offers a one-time commission and after that, nothing else comes in.
3. Wrong concept of what network marketing is all about: Many marketers join the business with high expectations of instant riches. They have false expectations due to the overhyped advertisements they are gullible enough to believe. They expect to do no work, and as a result, get frustrated when they see the amount of work needed to achieve success, and subsequently give up.
4. Lack of consistency and inability to see projects through: Many people don't have the required patience it takes to see projects through. They get impatient when they don't see instant results. They are not consistent with their goals and keep jumping from one "wonderful" program to the next, achieving very little.
5. Wrong Sponsors: People fail because they have no competent sponsor to guide them through the rudiments of the business. Find a mentor who is committed to you if your sponsor is not doing his/her work.
6. Lack of self-development: People come into online businesses knowing next to nothing about the business, and still expect to succeed. You need to educate and develop yourself in your line of business in order to succeed. You need to become an expert in your line of business.
7. Lack of planning: There's a saying that says, "If you fail to plan, you plan to fail". Some people only have a vague idea of what they want to do to succeed. And of course, they fail. In order to succeed in your business, draw up a daily schedule, itemize the things you want to achieve and stick to the plan.
So, if you are a new network marketer, take a serious look at the above points and make sure you don't repeat the mistakes of others. Persevere in your business, and success will be yours.

MLM Lead Generation - You Need a System!
No matter what business you're in, you'll need a good lead generation system to provide a constant inflow of new business opportunities. In the network marketing world, leads are your biggest asset in growing your business. So, you'll need a solid MLM lead generation system. In this post we'll discuss some of the things that make for a good MLM lead generation system.
Years ago I was exposed to my first network marketing organization. The opportunity opened my eyes to a new opportunity and I immediately got excited.
So, what happened?
A few years later, after spending so much time, effort, and money, I quit. I had earned a couple bucks along the way, but just couldn't get the ball rolling to produce any real results.
Why?
Once I ran through my list of family and friends, I had no one else to talk to. I kept going back to the same people and asking them to check it out one more time.
I needed a lead generation system.
I was told to find new people, I just didn't know how. Everyone said that I should just talk to people. So I did. I talked to everyone, and I told everyone about my business. But I needed an MLM lead generation system that put me in contact with the right people.
I knew that network marketing was a viable business model. I knew that many folks, all over the world, were making well into six figures (some in the seven figure range) in network marketing. I knew the benefits of owning a home based business. I knew that network marketing would give me everything I wanted, if I could only find the answer to generating leads.
Well time passed and once again I found myself faced with the opportunity of getting involved in network marketing; this time with a different company. But there was still the looming question of generating leads. My uplines-to-be, offered some advice and pointed me to some research.
I gotta tell you, life changed at that moment. It was like the lights suddenly turned on and I could see. I have been more than happy with the results of my efforts and am confident that the future will be bright. Even in today's dreaded economy, I am constantly working with folks and building my business.
What makes for a good MLM lead generation system?
Here are 7 key elements to look for:
1. Experience and Expertise
A quality MLM lead generation system is built by team of experts with extensive experience in Internet marketing. They've mastered the tactics of online lead generation and genuinely want you to have success. The system offers consistent training and guidance on the best ways to employ the system and generate leads at no additional cost.
2. Places Focus on Results
The system provides quick start training to produce immediate results. The system you choose should provide step-by-step training to get you up and running in a short amount of time. The system should also provide extensive training on how to customize and implement the entire system.
3. Proven Results
The system you choose should provide: lead capture pages, sales copy, and autoresponder messages that are all tested and perfected before becoming part of the system. The purpose of you purchasing the system is to leverage the expertise of others. The system should provide proven methods and proven results. Additionally, the system you choose should be constantly expanded and updated as the dynamics of online marketing change. This, of course, should be at no additional cost.
4. Relationship Building
Choose a system that is turn-key, provides easy set up and training, and incorporates and auto-responder. While you may choose to purchase a more robust auto-responder service, make sure that the system you choose has one built in that will send periodic emails to your leads. Sample emails should be provided in the system, but it should also allow for custom emails to be written.
5. Multiple Marketing Strategies
Once you set up your lead generation system, you'll need a way to reach people. This requires marketing. The system you choose should have built in marketing strategies and step-by-step training on how to implement simple and proven strategies.
6. Monetization
Wouldn't it be great if the lead generation system could pay for itself? Choose a system that provides numerous product campaigns. This will allow you to market yourself, your primary business, and take advantage of leads that choose not to get involved in your primary business but may need to acquire the knowledge and training that you now possess. Choose a system that will allow you to earn through it, not just generate leads.
7. Customizable to me! You're generating leads for your business so the lead generation system you choose will need to allow you to add in your own branding elements. The system you choose should provide for customization and branding.

What's The MLM Secret To Success?
Sometimes when things aren't going well with a person's MLM business, they sometimes begin to wonder, what is the MLM secret to being successful? Guess what, there is no MLM secret to being successful. As you read this article, you may ask, how do you know there is no MLM secret to being successful? Well, after being in this business for several years, after trial and error, and after having success and failure, I've come to learn that the only MLM secret to being successful is YOU!!! All the success and failures I've had in multi-level marketing is directly connected to my actions and as well as my inaction.
When I stopped blaming others for my failure, that's when I began to have success. Because this is a people oriented business, and you have to work with people to make it to the top, you won't like everything they do, when it comes to building your business. Unfortunately, everyone in this world isn't as honest as the next. You will have people who will try and walk over you, to try and get to the top. But what they don't know is, if they do make it to the top, it will be a short lived success. The old term goes, what goes around, comes around. You can't do people wrong, and just think you're going to get away with it. I've always said, you may get me once, but you won't get me a second time. Through my experience, once I learn how a person is, if they mean me no good, I still remain courteous, but I keep them at a distance. I only work with those who respect me, my time, and my experience as an individual, and I shall do the same in return.
Now, being successful in any business means doing things others won't do, going places others won't go, in order to have things, others don't have. Yes, sometimes you have to put in long hours, because you survive and or feed your family. Sometimes it seems like there isn't enough time in a day to get everything done. Rich people have same amount of time in a day as poor people, it just depends on what you do with the time you have. I've constantly heard people tell me; I don't have the time to do a business. Yet, they will turn around in the same breath and complain about having to work a parttime job, along with their fulltime job, because they don't make enough money. I always say, where there's a will, there's a way. Being successful in business means you have to be relentless in finding a way to succeed. You may ask, is there an MLM marketing system out there that works? Sure, there is a MLM marketing system out there that works. As a matter of fact, there are many.
The one I recommend is the MLM formula. Once its setup, it's becomes automated. Eliminating some of the steps of a typical MLM business. The MLM formula is the best online MLM marketing system I've found yet. But I would be remiss if I didn't say this. No MLM marketing system will work, if you're not willing to put in the time and effort to make it successful. That's all to it. You have to take action for it to be successful. Some reasons why people don't take action, is because they have a fear of failure. But what they don't realize is, action cures fear. You have to get uncomfortable, before you can become comfortable. Once you take action, whether it's the right or wrong action, you begin to see something happen. If it's not the results you're looking for, then you have to adjust that action, until you get the results you want. Don't let inaction, be the cause of failure of your business. If you don't have the right MLM marketing system, search for a MLM marketing system that works. Once again I say, what is the MLM secret to success? The MLM secret to success is YOU!!!
